To investigate 'deadbeat' parents, who fail to pay child support, to meet their responsibilities, or abuse the system, use our private investigators. Phone 1300 966 103, email pi@theprivategroup.com.au, or use our online form: *Online Inquiry, free quotes. Private investigation of a deadbeat parent, a deadbeat dad, a deadbeat mum, isn't for everyone, you have to consider the cost, and the benefit of a successful investigation.

It is known as the Deadbeat Dad Syndrome, a father who takes no responsibility for a child they helped create. They may leave prior to the birth, and never actually see the child. They refuse to acknowledge any legal or moral obligation towards the child. They refuse to pay child support, and try every trick in the book to avoid responsibility. They use every trick in the book to avoid 'subsidising' the other parents lifestyle.
A 'deadbeat' parent is one who fails to provide for a child, this can be either a man or woman. Both exist. The rise of the 'deadbeat' mother has been noticed. This may be a mother who is not the primary carer of the child, and hides income, or the mother who spends the money on herself, on drugs, on the new boyfriend, not the child.
This newer form of deadbeat parent, is the parent who takes the money, the child support or government support, that is given to look after the child, and spends it on themselves. The ratio's are changing, with more male primary carers, who buy a motorbike and argue it is for the child, or a fishing boat, but doesn't feed or clothe the child properly. This is also a deadbeat parent!
A private investigator becomes involved to either prove that the child is not being cared for by the parent who has custody (and it becomes a child custody dispute), or that the parent is failing to provide maintenance, or pay child support for their child (and is failing to declare or hiding income). This is a maintenance dispute.
In a maintenance, or child support dispute, where a parent is working and being paid in cash, or has created a vehicle for hiding income, investigators will provide evidence of the work being performed, the lifestyle displayed, and possibly evidence of funds being transferred (e.g. payment handed over).
The richer 'deadbeats' may have the assistance of a conniving accountant, or family, to create trusts, shelf companies (shells), or overseas accounts, Hong Kong debit cards for offshore accounts were popular for a while, for those working for multinationals, in an overseas area, or on oil rigs. The family may also move income, or income earning assets, into their names, so the mother or father doesn't have much 'declared' income, but can access money. Some are smart enough themselves to set up a trust, technically managed by another as trustee (like the accountant), to hide assets. This can be hard to counter, but often you can use lifestyle information.
The dumber 'deadbeats' may move everything into the name of the new boyfriend or girlfriend, and then be surprised when there is a falling out and the other party won't return the property; we have seen men go to jail, because of how they reacted, when they realise the new 'ex-girlfriend' is keeping the all the equipment, and money, they 'hid' by putting it in the girlfriends name.
Our role is surveillance, generally, as well as research to establish assets and asset movements. We use private and public indices, social media, open source information, and many years experience to search for the evidence, the information, required. Unfortunately Australian privacy laws protect the guilty for more than the innocent, so this is difficult. When you need an experienced, licensed, private investigator, contact us for a free quote.
Government departments no longer seem eager to investigate, so we do, for a cost. Private investigators work for you, not the government. You suspect, we investigate, gather evidence, and report.
